Dog Boarding & Care

"Think of Us as Your Personal Pet Care Nanny. We Take Away Any Guilt in Leaving Them Behind..."

Lets be honest. No one takes care of your animal companions as well as you do. After all, you're their pet parent and they're your babies. This very special bond between human and our animal companions is what makes it so difficult to leave them...for a day, weekend, week, month(s). I discovered this a couple of years back when I had to leave my Bailey for a week when going on vacation. I searched all over for a boarding facility and came home crying in desperation at what my options were-how little services and attention he was going to receive. I was personally outraged and offended to be charged extra for having them pet & nurture my baby. What! I vowed to someday have a different type of pet boarding care available for pet parents and their animal companions. I'm grateful that the time has finally come, and we have opened our doors.

When you leave your animal companions under our care, it's like you're leaving them with their own personal Pet Nanny. We board a small number of dogs and we don't have a staff. We bond one-on-one with each individual dog that is under our care...our environment is natural, nurturing, positive and very loving. Our environment allows your animal companion to feel relaxed, secure, content, comfortable, exercised, mentally stimulated, and very well looked after. Your animal companion will be playing outside, lounging under the tall majestic pine trees, chasing squirrels, making new friends!  After a few days, and especially after a few visits, your pooch will be accustomed to our facility and they will be begging you to come back and you'll be happy to leave them; because you know this is their country retreat.

Upon designing our facility and our services we thought of what makes a dog smile from the inside out....every decision we make is with that goal in mind.

Our #1 mission is to have a holistic, natural, nurturing environment for your beloved animal companion.

Questions and Answers:

What Do You Mean By "Free-Roaming":

While outside your animal companion is not in a small confined area. We have 4 outdoor zones...think of them like individual backyards; where they move about and hang out with their bunkmates. These areas are fenced-in and secure. We also have a 2 acre play and exercise area with a semi-private lake. The area around our property, excluding the lake, is fenced in to assure your pet's safety. Group play and group exercise times are under our supervision. We group like-minded dogs, temperaments, energy levels together for group play. While playing in the larger area, we limit the number of dogs participating in group play to a few.

What Do You Mean By "Crate-Free":

Our facility is designed to replicate a "home-like" or "camp-like" (depending on the accommodations) boarding experience for your animal companion. The "Doggie Lounge" quarters are secure, climate controlled quarters with comfortable dog bedding which your pet shares with their other bunk mates. (We have a couple of dog crates available for use, in case your pet is accustomed to sleeping in one and prefers them). But for the majority of our boarders we don't use crates. Each "Doggie Lounge" has doggie doors to allow your pet easy and care-free access in and out of the "Doggie Lounge" into the fenced-in dog run.

What if My Pet(s) Don't Do Well in a Group Setting:

Single family dogs or two dog households that don't do well in a group setting or need a little extra time to bond with their bunkmates and their new environment will be accommodated in our semi-private bunks (20% surchage for private bunking, may apply). Pet families of 4+ are usually accommodated in their own semi-private bunks at no extra charge.

I'm Concerned About My Pet(s) Being Around Other Dogs:

Dogs are naturally pack animals and the large majority of dogs do exceptionally well around other dogs. We are the pack leaders and the dogs immediately understand that. They also understand that this is our home and they are a guest here. THEY JUST KNOW! So many behaviors that they exhibit in their own home, they don't do in our home or property. Many dogs find our environment to be comforting. They are not in solitude. Dogs hate to be confined and isolated. With that being said, if your dog has not been socialized around other dogs, there may be an adjustment period. But this usually only lasts 12-36 hours. In this case, we will slowly introduce your animal companion to the other bunkers and spend extra one-on-one time with them. It's most important to establish the human-to-dog relationship first. We have several outdoor zones and indoor accommodations to allow us this flexibility. We will not put your dog in a situation they are not comfortable in and they will let us know if they are not comfortable.

What Do You Mean By Natural:

Our facility is set-up in a lovely natural environment. Lots of trees, grass, shade, lake, cows, roosters. We're also natural because dogs are naturally pack animals and it's very natural for them to be around other dogs.

What Do You Mean By Holistic:

We nourish your animal companion(s)' mind, body and spirit while under our care. Mind: we keep their minds active with lots of play, activities and stimulation, but also give them lots of rest and relaxation, all the while striving to have a calm, submissive mental state. Body: we provide the best nutritional nourishment for them. Spirit: we comfort, nurture, love, and praise them.
